Center for Islamic Economics and IBA-CIEF conducted a one-day certificate course on shariah audit and compliance framework for Islamic Financial Institutions. The course was specially designed to provide practical knowledge on design of sharia audit, review control and supervision.
It was held at Serena hotel on Feb 23rd, 2018 and we received an overwhelming response.Here are some highlights of the event.
The 3 day Executive Development Program on Islamic Banking & Takaful organized by CIE and IBA CEIF in Islamabad comes to a close with more than 55 attendants at the sessions. Those in attendance were senior professionals such as bankers, product managers, regulators and corporate heads.
The course provided learning outcomes on fundamentals, theory as well as practice of these disciplines.
The key note speakers for the events were Mufti Taqi Usmani, Dr. Imran Ashraf Usmani, Mufti Najeeb Khan, Dr. Zubair Ashraf Usmani, Mufti Irshad Ahmed Ejaz and Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui.

Today respected Hazrat Mufti Taqi Usmani is giving Khutba during Friday prayer in February, 23rd Islamabad.
The cream of Pakistan’s civil bureaucracy from federal ministries, public sector organizations and autonomous bodies gathered today at the CIE and IBA CEIF organized “Sharia Compliant Public Finance & Fund Management” workshop. Participants included civil servants from departments such as FBR, SECP, SBP, Economic Affairs Division and Ministry of Finance.
The course provided a unique methodology for understanding Islamic Banking & Finance concepts to explore shariah compliant options for Public Finance and Fund Management for Government projects. Key moderators of the workshop were Mufti Taqi Usmani (d.b) and Dr. Imran Ashraf Usmani.

Learning outcomes included Islamic banking practices, Shariah basis and issues of different financial products offered by Islamic banks and the basic knowledge of Islamic finance practices internationally and locally
Keynote speakers included Mufti Abdullah Najeeb, Mufti Najeeb Khan, Hazrat Taqi Usmani, Dr. Zubair Usmani, Dr. Hassan Ashraf Usmani, Ahmed Ali Siddiqui and Farhan Usmani.
Our honorable chief guest Mr. Sardar Yousuf (Minister of religious affairs) also visited and gave his regards to the attendees.
CIE and IBA – CEIF organized a dinner for parliamentarians at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The theme of the meeting was promoting Islamic Finance which is the key for economic growth of Pakistan.
The event was well attended with distinguished personalities like Maulana Fazul Rehman, Hazrat Rafi Usmani Sb, Mufti Taqi Usmani (d.b) Adnan Kakahhel, Maulana Haneef Jalandhri, Maulana Saeed Yousaf and Dr Imran Usmani in attendance.
Islamabad was the center of elite scholarly gathering at the CIE and IBA – CEIF organized one day course on Islamic Banking which was specifically designed for Shariah Scholars.
The event comprised more than 150 attendants who were trained by Mufti Najeeb Khan, Mufti Yahya Asim, Dr. Zubair ashraf Usmani & Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui.
Honorable chief guests on the occasion were distinguished Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani, Mufti Taqi Usmani (d.b) and Dr. Ishrat Hussain.
Islamic finance is increasingly gaining momentum on the global scene as a viable alternate financial system, grounded in its strong fundamentals risk sharing and asset backed financing. The current asset-base of global Islamic finance industry (IFI) stands at around 2 trillion US$. In Pakistan Islamic banking industry claims 11.4 percent share in assets and 13.2 percent share in deposits of overall banking industry.
